Oral presentation and submission
Instructions for presenters
Here we provide instructions for presenters at 22nd IWLR. Please take a few moments to read through all the sections relevant to your presentation (oral/poster, online/in person). Please note that after the conference, we will upload the presentation materials to the workshop website, unless authors request us not to.
Guidelines for oral presentation
- Time limit: 15 minutes, including a short Q&A session. Please consider this when preparing your talk and try to leave at least two minutes for the discussion.
- File formats: PDF, LibreOffice and Microsoft Office formats. 16:9 aspect ratio ideally.
- Scheduled time slots: you should have received the detailed program, also accessible through the conference website.
In person talks
Please send your presentation to email@example.com with at least two days in advance of your scheduled time slot. For files too large for email you can use an online file sharing service. If absolutely necessary, we could provide an invite to use our institutional file sharing service.
We will send a confirmation acknowledging receipt of your file. As a last resort, session chairs will load your presentation from USB sticks at the venue, before 09:00 everyday or during breaks. Please help the local organisers by avoiding this option when possible.
Microsoft Teams will be the communication platform for the conference. We will send the invites for the various sessions in advance. We may contact you to make a connection and audio/video tests a few days before your scheduled date. For the best results, the following guidelines should be observed:
1. If the MS Teams application is not available, please use Chrome or Firefox web browsers.
2. Ideally, the computer should be connected via Ethernet cable to the access point. Otherwise, please ensure that excellent Wi-Fi reception is available from your location.
3. The webcam should ideally be positioned approximately at head height.
4. The light source—natural or artificial—must be in front of the presenter. Windows behind the presenter must be avoided.
5. It is recommended to reboot the computer before beginning. Alternatively close all other applications, specially other videoconferencing apps that might block the video resources.
6. In the case of using a corporate VPN, it is preferable to disconnect it.
7. If you own a headphones set with microphone, probably the sound quality provided by this mic is superior to others available (e.g. webcam). Avoid using Bluetooth headsets.
You can send a pre-recorded video of your talk as a back-up option. This is useful in the event of having connection problems during your presentation, or if you prefer this option over a live delivery (e.g. because of time zone differences). Please contact us in advance at firstname.lastname@example.org if you wish to send a video of your talk.
Guidelines for abstract submission
Abstracts of the oral contributions, with a maximum length of 300 words, must be written in English using the templates provided here (docx or odt format). Please do not introduce any format changes to ensure the uniformity of the submissions.
Submissions must be sent to email@example.com in pdf and one of odt/docx, indicating in the subject line the topic and the preferred type of presentation (oral or poster). Please choose the topic of your contribution among the following ones:
The wider context: ILRS, synergies with other services/techniques, TRF, GGOS…
Science and Analysis: analysis results, new strategies, POD, scientific missions support, data quality, systematic errors, assessment of network performance
Engineering: trends in SLR technology, station upgrades, new and future systems
Lunar Laser Ranging and Deep Space Missions: analysis, new lunar retroreflectors, station updates, new missions, transponders
Operations: automation, calibration and co-locations, safety, scheduling
New Technologies/Applications: space debris, time transfer, optical communications...
Missions: recent results, ongoing support and future launches
Please note that this list is not definite nor exhaustive. If the topic of your contribution is not explicitly listed here use the most general category where it may fit in.

Notification of accepted oral presentations (extended date): 9 October 2022
Presenter registration deadline (extended date): 16 October 2022
Further guidelines regarding the allocated time for oral presentations and Q&A sessions will be provided at a later date.
Please note that the abstracts of accepted contributions will be published online. Licensing details will be notified in due course, but a liberal license (such as CC Attribution should be expected).
